In 2021, Milliken Floor Coverings launched its M/PACT™carbon neutral programme. The mission was to make all of its carpet and LVT globally available as carbon-neutral products. Today, this has become a reality, allowing everyone commercial project specification to embrace a commitment to a more sustainable future.
How they do it?
As well as sourcing more sustainable raw materials, improving manufacturing and transport efficiency and recycling, Milliken has taken steps so that M/PACT products offset their entire cradle-to-gate carbon footprint* through third-party Verified Carbon Standard Credits, which support renewable energy and carbon reduction technologies to combat climate change. Milliken invests in renewable energy credits, verified carbon offsets, and has started investing in its own renewable energy projects. Additionally, it continues to enhance manufacturing efficiency and support local supply chains.

Milliken continues to design products with high recycled content incorporated into as many layers as possible in order to reduce environmental footprint. Every product offers 100%material transparency down to 100ppm. This commitment to material transparency and ongoing efforts to enhance material health is central to its dedication to combating climate change. Additionally, end-of-life Milliken carpet tiles can be kept out of landfill through the Milliken Carpet Take Back programme.
· Neighbourhood watch
Milliken utilises its global manufacturing network and local supply chains to minimise carbon emissions by sourcing materials locally when possible and producing goods close to customers, reducing shipping distances. Its European manufacturing facilities operate on100% certified renewable electricity and are ISO50001 Energy ManagementStandard certified, providing a framework to continuously reduce carbon footprint — an industry first.

The M/PACT™ program is designed for the longterm, recognising that the fight against climate change is a sustained effort.As a global manufacturing company, Milliken has set 2025 targets aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aiming for a 25% reduction in indexed greenhouse gas emissions by 2025 and to be net zero by 2050.
